  1. I’m interested to see what happens with this one…

  2. IMO,

Matyushenko is far too low. That’s a Top 20 LHW.

I think Soszynski makes this list. Bobby Southworth as well, perhaps.. Keep an eye on Mamed Khalidov too.

  3. You might be right about Vladimir. The only thing I can say is he hasn’t fought a contender since 2003. Everyone around him is busy fighting has risen to contender status or beaten those people that have risen there (i.e. Lambert over Babalu…Gouveia over Lambert…Reljic over Gouviea) I know that’s MMAth but those are legit accomplishments (or were at the time.)

Soszynski is on the verge but has lost every time when stepping up in competition. He needs a breakthrough win or perfromance. Same with Southworth. He’s lost to guys like Anthony Ruiz and Sam Hoger. If I ranked Southworth, I’d have to rank them before I do that.

Mamed looks pretty tough but needs that breakthrough win. Winning 11 in a row is tough but i’m not positive what kind of level his opponents were at.

  4. Reljic and Belfort are both at mw now and should be moved to that weight class in ranking’s. Renato at 14?? That is rediculous he should be at 25 or so. Leave the last 3 IFL guy’s off the list and David Heath…they are not top level guy’s

  5. Matt,

Reljic and Belfort must be inactive at 205 for 2 years before I drop them. If they continue to be inactive at 205, they will drop accordingly.

Belfort is 33rd at 185 and Reljic in Not Ranked yet because he has yet to beat anyone in that weight class yet.

Babaulu is 14-3 since 2002 with 2 of those losses to Chuck Liddell. He is wayyy more accomplished and has been more active than the fighters below him. It’s not ridiculous at all.

You might have an argument with David Heath. He is kind of a gatekeeper into the rankings. He’s on the verge of being eliminated though.

Jamal Patterson beat Matt Horwich twice. Those are legit wins. Reese and Gusmao looked disappointing in their UFC fights but they deserve to be there based on their credentials.

    I appreciate the feedback.
